UK Visa's for South African's

As of 1st November this year, 2008, the working holiday visa is being withdrawn from the South African market place, leaving them South African’s only the HSMP (Tier 1), Ancestry and Spousal visa as options - other than Sponsorship of course.

UK Working Holiday Visa

Why are they picking on the Saffa’s, you may well ask? It’s got something to do with Tabo’s being unwilling to enter into joint agreements of visas / migrant labour for British persons who may – or may not – wish to experience working in South Africa along with the thrill of violent urban crime, dodging gunfire and mini bus taxi’s but also to experience wild open African spaces and stunning sunsets, braai’s, biltong and real beer.

Sponsorship and Work Permit’s are under current tightening and will continue to do so for the remainder of the year we think,  leaving matters feeling rather squeezed and cramped. What other visa’s are scheduled for a tightening up of the nuts and bolts holding the British immigration system together? Well, Ancestry is on the cards to be reviewed and could well become harder to get as of next year, so a little birdie whispered to me.  Does that mean Right of Abode will be double checked as well? Who knows, more will be posted here as soon as it becomes available.
